Latest mix of ‘Brighter Days’

I was listening to the latest mix of ‘Brighter Days’ today and it’s sounding great. This song really speaks to me. A lot of people have rough pasts and use that as an excuse for their present behaviour. I think it’s important that we strive to get beyond that. Break the chains that hold you back. We’re capable of amazing things but it has to start with us. We can live in the past or strive for greatness.

This was my first experience of sitting down with others to write a song and it paid off. ‘Brighter Days’ really kicks and could end up being the lead track on my album. It reminds me a bit of Billy Idol with its slamming drums and driving guitars! The pulsing rhythm guitars and uplifting solo were performed by Tim Holman who’s always stellar in the studio (check out his website at www.timholman.ca). He was definitely in the zone for this. Also turning in a fantastic performance was drummer Brad Zimmer who did the most amazing fill going into the last chorus. Together with Tim’s soaring lead it gives you the same kind of rush as accelerating in a sports car or taking off in a jet airliner. A couple of years ago I performed ‘Brighter Days’ at a show and the crowd loved it. It’s got an amazing energy that gets you up and moving. I can’t wait for you guys to hear it.
