With all the craziness going on in the world one can sometimes lose perspective. I remember being at my nephew’s birthday party at the beginning of March when my brother told us that COVID-19 was hitting Canada right away and that we’d have to stay in our homes for a while. Not too long after that society started closing down. We were assailed by apocalyptic worst case scenarios from the media. Millions of people were laid off globally: everything from malls to theaters to leisure centers. Basically anything that wasn’t deemed an essential service was closed down. COVID-19 asserted its presence around the world. Millions became infected and many died. We had to stay away from each other and wear masks in public yet still do the ‘social distancing’ thing. Many businesses closed and the music industry virtually shut down except for stuff on TV from artists recording at home. No public concerts for the foreseeable future…
Now, society is opening up little by little although indoor venues probably won’t be happening for a while. 2020 has been a year like no other but things will get better once a cure is found. Society will get back to a more normal state eventually; we just have to wait this out. I’m looking forward to hearing all the amazing music that will be made during this time. Things are starting to get better. The other side of the coin is that now I have some more time to get things ready for getting my album out. That gives me hope. It’s easy to give up but so much more worth it to push ahead. I’m looking forward to Brighter Days.
The final mixing for my album is happening and from what I’ve heard so far you guys are in for a treat. I’m looking into trying to get a couple of lyric videos out too. It’s all a matter of being patient in the meantime. The future gives me hope; this has been a long journey yet we’re getting closer to our destination. Can’t wait to share some of my music with you all. It will be worth the wait; I’ve been going towards this for so long and the light and the end of this tunnel is definitely getting brighter. In the meantime just gotta keep stepping forward and stepping up. The future is ours.
Yes BRIGHTER days ahead Mat!! Looking forward to your CD release
